Gallery Slider Shortcode

The Gallery Slider allows you to configure a custom-sized dynamic gallery to display Featured Listings or properties from a Market created in your Control Panel. You can define the number of rows or columns to display, the effect used when listings advance, and whether the slider auto- or manually advances.

If you do not specify a height and width the slider will fit to the column provided, and will also be responsive for mobile devices and present in one row and one column.

The simplest way to add the shortcode to a page is by using the Shortcode Selector - you can configure all parameters using a form that will insert the shortcode in your page or post.

The gallery slider is not permitted for clients in the Edmonton Real Estate Board.

New! Slider Style & Navigation

Update your plugin to version 3.0 or higher for access to the "grid" style as well as navigation placement options. Grid style will use the color chosen for button and other site elements. Opt for top, sides or bottom for navigation arrows.

The instructions below detail how to add the slider manually in Text edit mode.

The next two steps provide examples on how to feature different listings within the slider. Featured Listings are listings which belong to the Agent/Broker, while Saved Searches are listings that come from a saved search created in your account Control Panel.

Featured Listings

In order to add a featured listings slider to your site, use the code below:

Listing Reports (Saved Searches)

To add a slider that displays listings from a Listing Report, use the code below and replace MARKET ID with the Market ID found in your account Control Panel (go to Markets and copy the ID next to the Market you'd like to use ).

[optima_express_gallery_slider id='MARKET ID']

Define Column Width

Use the width= parameter to specify the overall width (if you do not enter these, the slider will be responsive and fit to the column). The columns and images will be sized to fit within the width specified. Here is an example of adding this parameter to increase the size of the slider column to be 400px:

[optima_express_gallery_slider width='400']

2. Rows & Columns

You can add grids rows & columns by using the rows= and columns= parameters.

Here is an example which uses both parameters:

[optima_express_gallery_slider rows='2' columns='2']

3. Effects & Advancing

Opt for a fade effect instead of the standard scroll by adding effect=fade to the widget javascript. If you’d like the listings to be manually advanced only, add auto=false.

Here is an example which uses the fade effect and allows for manual advance only:

[optima_express_gallery_slider effect=fade auto=false]

4. Maximum Results

For better performance, Optima Express version 2.2.7 and above include the maxResults parameter. This allows you to limit the quantity of listings downloaded for the slider to a specified number of results. Limitting the quantity of listings can greatly in improve the load time of a page that includes the slider, especially if the slider contains a saved search that includes tens or hundreds of listings.

Here is an example which sets the maximum results to 25 listings:

[optima_express_gallery_slider maxResults=25]
